The CCA’s mandate to encourage and develop the study of communication and its relationship with other disciplines expands beyond its annual conference. Among these activities:
- The CCA Racialized and Indigenous Scholars Network (RISN) currently hosts two events per academic year in addition to its annual meeting at the CCA conference.
- The CCA offers bursaries annually to graduate student organizations around the country to facilitate conference activities at their home universities.
- The CCA graduate student caucus is a long-standing and highly active organization.
