For the 2026 conference, the CCA has combined what had previously been separate membership and conference registration fees. The membership portion of the fees helps sustain CCA as an organization and the conference registration portion covers the costs of hosting a conference.<\/p>\n

There are three fee categories: presenting (includes membership), non-presenting, and membership only.<\/p>\n

Everyone listed on the CCA program, including all co-authors, presenting at the conference must pay the fee in the \u201cpresenting\u201d category. This fee includes a one-year CCA membership, with the exception of non-academic community members presenting on roundtables.<\/p>\n

If you are attending the conference but not presenting you may pay the appropriate \u201cnon-presenting\u201d (conference-only) fee to attend, or chose the appropriate \u201cpresenting\u201d fee if you would also like to become a CCA member.<\/p>\n

If you will not attend but want to renew your CCA membership, you may pay the fee listed in the \u201cmembership only\u201d category. Membership runs from January 1 to December 31 of a calendar year; however, new memberships and renewals completed after November 15 of each year are carried over to the following year (i.e., if you pay your dues on November 28, 2025, your 2026 membership is renewed automatically). As such, if you already renewed your membership after November 15th this year but are also presenting at the conference you may pay the \u201cnon-presenting\u201d conference fee.<\/p>\n

Presenting at the annual conference is the first and most tangible benefit of membership in the CCA. The Canadian Journal of Communication<\/em> offers a reduced subscription rate to members.
